Learn to knit while creating a set of dishcloths – a fun, easy, and environmentally friendly way to start your knitting adventures! In Session 1, you’ll learn how to cast on and bind off (start and end your knitting), the two primary stitches (knit and purl), how to correct common mistakes, and you’ll enjoy a primer on yarn and knitting needles. In Session 2, you’ll review the skills you’ve learned, problem-solve, learn to read a simple pattern (written or charted), and, if you’re ready for new challenges, dive into some basic stitch patterns (combinations of knit and purl stitches). You’ll leave a newly minted knitter, with skills you can use for a lifetime.
Peyton Waggener is a passionate fiber artist who loves the textures and colors she works with – feeling silk slip through her fingers as she spins, felting wools, and weaving cotton. It’s all magic! She is continuously honing her skills and enjoys teaching a variety of textile techniques, including knitting, needlepoint, cross stitch, spinning, dyeing, Kumihimo braiding, and sewing.
